Floortime is a relationship-based therapy for children that involves parents and therapists engaging with the child at their level through play. This approach can complement or serve as an alternative to ABA therapy, aiming to expand the child's communication by building on their interests and strengths.
Floortime therapy emphasizes emotional and relational development rather than isolating speech, motor, or cognitive skills. It aims to improve self-regulation, engagement, and interest in the world, fostering deeper relationships and more sophisticated communication. Therapists guide parents in leading their children through increasingly complex interactions using a technique known as "opening and closing circles of communication," central to the Floortime approach. This method helps children reach their full potential by focusing on their individuality beyond their diagnosis.
Inclusive Academy's Floor Time Classes are specially designed to engage individuals with special needs through interactive play and communication activities. Our curriculum focuses on fostering emotional and intellectual growth by encouraging students to interact with their environment and peers through structured, yet playful scenarios. Instructors are skilled in adaptive teaching methods, ensuring that each student can participate actively and benefit from the sessions. These classes aim to enhance social interaction, develop communication skills, and support emotional regulation through guided play.
